Brush Pens - Which one?
Choosing the right brush pen can make all the difference when you’re starting out. Let’s simplify the options and find one that feels just right in your hand.
Start Small
If you’re new to brush lettering, small-tip pens are the best place to start. They’re easier to control and help you learn how to create thin upstrokes and thick downstrokes.
✨ Try: Tombow Fudenosuke (Hard or Soft Tip) or Pentel Touch Sign Pen
Go Bigger as You Grow
Once you’ve got the basics down, larger brush pens create beautiful, expressive contrasts.
✨ Try: Tombow Dual Brush Pens or Ecoline Brush Pens

Paper Matters
Even the best brush pens can fray on rough paper. Always use smooth, bleed-proof paper for the best results.
✨ Good options: Rhodia pads, Bristol paper, or HP Premium LaserJet
Keep It Simple
You don’t need a huge collection of pens. A couple of quality brush pens and some smooth paper are all you need to start. The real magic comes from your creativity — not the tools!
